Many conflicts arise out of the right to use the land or the water.
In South Sudan the Land Act 2009 is the important law to regulate use of land. Many people are not aware of the rights that are included in this act and the way they can exercise them. WOTAP volunteers visit the villages and explain the Land Act in the local languages. This gives people a chance to solve conflicts without violence.
WOTAP is an active participant in the Land Rights Alliance.
